At Linguapets, we understand the importance of providing a strong foundation for young learners, regardless of their future language goals. That’s why we’ve meticulously chosen the Cambridge Young Learners (CYL) syllabus as our core curriculum. We believe it’s the most comprehensive and engaging framework available for developing essential English language skills in a fun and age-appropriate way.
The CYL syllabus goes beyond simply preparing children for exams. It focuses on building a solid understanding of the core building blocks of language:
- Communication: Developing practical communication skills for everyday use.
- Grammar & Vocabulary: Building a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary relevant to young learners’ interests. This strong base will benefit them no matter what language they choose to pursue later.
- Phonics & Spelling: Learning the connection between sounds and letters, a crucial skill for mastering any language.
- Four Skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking): Our online courses currently focus on developing these core competencies. We are excited to announce that we will be expanding our offerings to include online speaking classes soon, providing a well-rounded learning experience for all four essential language skills.

While our current courses focus on English, we plan to expand our offerings to include Spanish, German, and other languages in the future. The strong foundation built through the CYL framework will seamlessly transition to these new languages, giving your child a head start in their future language learning journey.
Our Courses and the CYL Framework
Linguapets offers three exciting courses, each carefully designed to align with a specific CYL level and CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) range:
- Linguapets Starters: This course aligns with the Cambridge Young Learners Starters (YLE Starters) level (Pre-A1 CEFR). It’s perfect for introducing young learners to basic English vocabulary and grammar through interactive games, songs, and stories.
- Linguapets Movers: This course aligns with the Cambridge Young Learners Movers (YLE Movers) level (Pre-A1 to A1 CEFR). It helps young learners develop their confidence in using English by building on their foundational knowledge and introducing more complex grammar structures.
- Linguapets Flyers: This course aligns with the Cambridge Young Learners Flyers (YLE Flyers) level (A1 to A2 CEFR). It challenges young learners to think critically and express themselves creatively in English, preparing them for success in higher-level studies.
